Susan Orlins: "Family Vacation" At the Beach With My Ex and Our Kids

Season 8 of "The Family Vacation" has ended. Back from The Hamptons to their everyday lives are "Family Vacation" stars: the exes -- since 1998 -- Steve and Susan (yours truly) and their three twenty-something daughters.

Let's take a look back at Season 1, Summer of 2004.

"The whole family's in the pool," my oldest daughter observes in a tone as sparkly as the cool water after I ease in to join her, her two sisters and their dad, Steve.

Even though Steve and I divorced in 1998, the five of us are in East Hampton, New York on what we call The Family Vacation.

It started that summer of 2004, when camps, trips and jobs allowed only 9 days that all three girls were available at the same time. Steve called me to discuss how to divvy up the time.

I searched my mind for a way to get 5 days to his 4.

But then I had a eureka moment and suggested that rather than each of us taking a mini holiday with the kids, all 5 of us could go away together for twice as long. Without hesitation, Steve agreed.

I relished the novelty. Steve and I had both recovered sufficiently from the bruises of our union and its dissolution. And we each had new love interests; neither of us was pining for the other.

Even during the worst moments, we had managed to compartmentalize our differences and problem solve whenever issues arose regarding the girls. In fact, I was often secretly grateful for a crisis, so I could experience the fuzzy feeling of good will between Steve and me.

As soon as I enter the rented house on the first day of that first family vacation, I scurry to check out the bedrooms and stake claim to the one that best suits me.

Steve cares about quiet; I care about openings to the outdoors. He is happiest in a room away from the kitchen and girls' rooms; I like the pj-party atmosphere when my room is near the kids.

Steve avoids bickering; I am a better bickerer.

In the Season 1 house, I bicker better and get the bedroom farthest from the kitchen, the quietest but also the one nearest the girls' rooms and the only one with a door to the outside. Steve ends up in the room closest to the kitchen and the morning rumpus.

We go to the beach every day no matter what. Steve has Weatherman in his DNA and sometimes he has us set out while it's still raining, but by the time we step on the sand with our folding chairs, the sun is peeking through, as he'd predicted.

On such weather days, we are practically the only ones at the water's edge. We are all alike in our fondness for slouching in beach chairs and reading. Everyone loves the ocean, except for me. I dislike the feeling of water on my face and I'm afraid of waves.

Once when Steve and I were dating, we ventured into the water together and the surf was bigger than I'd thought. One after the other waves washed over us, never pausing long enough for me to get out, the same way, when my labor was induced for my first child to be born, the contractions came back-to-back, no break, no exit strategy. Bang, bang, bang.

At night we like to cook and eat in, only occasionally venturing into the town, which is dense with city folk clad in expensive sports clothes. We go only to prowl the bookstore, get ice cream cones or see a movie.

Most nights we line up in front of the TV after dinner, each of us with a laptop perched on our thighs. It's the 2004 Olympics and Steve and the girls like watching the competitions. Steve gets teary during athletes' personal stories and when unexpected victories and heartbreaking losses occur.

I don't mind watching the Olympics, though it makes me sad that kids are packaged into mono-track lives that deprive them of their childhoods. No one agrees with me. I'm a Debbie Downer when it comes to the Olympics.

The only thing that feels odd over the 9 days, is that it feels so normal to all be together. Everyone agrees we should do this again next year.

This is such a win-win-win-win-win situation for our family. I wish more divorced families would vacation together. Please share this; maybe it will inspire others to try. Of course, it takes 2 willing parents.

For more details about how we have done this for 8 seasons, see Vacation With my Ex: Who Sleeps Where, Significant Others, Arguments, Socializing and More.

Speaking of summer, check out my secret, one-minute way to Stop a Mosquito Bite From Itching.

Irvine Heating- QERV Technology Set ? Heating & Air Conditioning ...

Now that the green energy movement has attracted the attention of companies and governments, amazing technologies, such as Air QERV exciting emerging.

Air QERV is the name of a particular technology, which offers a step forward in using energy very efficiently. QERV technology to be applied to many applications in the near future, but initially, it focuses on home heating and air conditioning.

While not particularly exciting things to the surface ? when you learn about money very important that they can save money on their monthly bills, you will probably get excited quickly.

For example:

Imagine running 500 (500) 100-watt bulbs at the same time. This is the approximate amount of energy a traditional heating and air conditioning use per hour.

Now imagine running only three (3) 100 bulbs. This is the amount of energy used by QERV air system to heat or cool the house the same size!

Needless to say, there is no comparison, since much of your monthly electric bill is due to energy costs associated with heating or cooling your house ? we?re talking about saving hundreds of dollars a month to millions of homeowners housing.

Are you excited about Green Energy is now? I thought you might be!

As for green energy is concerned, not only the air QERV is an improvement, is a quantum leap forward!

When people reduce the energy needed to heat or cool their homes for 90 to 95%, it also means that the various resources used to create this energy can be stored in a big way!

The resources currently used by the owners to run their traditional cooling include: electricity, natural gas / propane, oil, nuclear, coal and wood.

All these resources are scarce. Add to that the costs associated with the development of new refineries, power plants, oil wells, etc., and they are also more difficult to start and costly to operate.

We all know that the use of these fuels has a cost to our environment and, frankly, the earth simply is not enough for the damage it causes.

We have adopted these sins against nature, because we need to live comfortably ? and I?m no different ?

The good news is that new technology can help slash our energy use while we maintain our standard of living.

The bad news QERV is that it is a new task, and have not even really been introduced to the public in general, but a great way.

A national road tour is scheduled for both HVAC professionals and ordinary people have the opportunity to see the technology for themselves. Yes, they are encouraged to bring their own measuring devices, since the performance of Air QERV seems too good to be true, unless you?ve seen!

The interesting thing is that there are also many other benefits of this technology as ?traditional.? These include lower costs, maintenance costs, improved air quality, and safer homes.

Stay tuned for the latest news on technology and Air QERV her upcoming tour.

Do not hesitate to contact us and we will add to other people who are very excited about this step forward in the Green Energy.

Top EU official urges more integration

(AP) ? The head of the European Union's executive arm urged Europe to get more united as it grapples to contain a debt crisis in Greece that's threatening the survival of the euro currency itself.

In a state of the union speech at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, Barroso, who heads the European Commission, came down firmly in favor of the 27-nation EU having a stronger central government.

"If we do not move forward with more unification, we will suffer more fragmentation," he said Wednesday.

"I think this is going to be a baptism of fire for a whole generation," Barroso added.

Barroso's comments came as lawmakers in Finland and Germany prepare to vote on measures that will give the 17 countries that use the euro more powers to fight a debt crisis that's already led to Greece, Ireland and Portugal to seek bailouts. Greece is lumbered with so much debt that many in the markets think it will have no option but to default.

As well as facing a crisis in the eurozone, the wider EU is dealing with problems afflicting its borderless travel area that many observers say call for stronger central management of the union. More integration though would mean that member countries would lose some powers they have considered part of national sovereignty.

Barroso asserted that the EU would be able to summon the political will to come up with overall solutions to its crises and proposed a tax on financial transactions, which he said could raise euro55 billion ($74.7 billion) a year.

Also Wednesday, the head of the European Central Bank told an Italian newspaper that governments should speed up their implementation of measures to fight the continent's debt crisis.

Jean-Claude Trichet's comments to Corriere della Serra came as lawmakers in Finland and Germany ready to vote on giving the eurozone's bailout fund new powers to support troubled governments.

Trichet called on leaders "to demonstrate their sense of direction" and quickly put the new steps into effect.

Trichet said in an interview to be published later that "now is the time for effective action, implementation, verbal discipline and a stronger team spirit."

Lawmakers vote Wednesday in Finland and on Thursday in Germany on giving the eurozone bailout fund the ability to buy government bonds, bail out banks, and lend to troubled governments quickly before they are in a full fledged crisis.

Those measures were agreed by eurozone leaders July 21, but the delay in implementing them has been one of the main reasons for the turmoil in financial markets over the past few weeks.

While waiting for approval of the July 21 agreements, the ECB has stepped in to buy government bonds and drive down borrowing costs for Italy and Spain.

Fears the eurozone's third and fourth largest economy may get sucked into Europe's debt crisis had stoked fears they would lose access to market funding and be forced into requesting bailouts, like Greece, Ireland and Portugal already have.

The ECB launched the purchases only reluctantly, and Trichet indicated he expected the bailout fund ? the European Financial Stability Facility ? to be in a position to take them over.

Still, the euro440 billion available from the EFSF has not reassured markets; so far European leaders have resisted suggestions to increase its size.

Markets have also watched nervously as eurozone authorities pushed Greece to make more cutbacks to qualify for an installment of bailout money that is needed to keep the country from defaulting.

A default by Greek or another government would send shock waves through the global economy, particularly in Europe, authorities fear. Banks would suffer such large losses on government bonds they hold that they would cut off credit to the wider economy and cause a recession.

Libya's NTC thinks Gaddafi hiding near Algeria (Reuters)

SIRTE (Reuters) ? Libya's new rulers said on Wednesday they believed fugitive former leader Muammar Gaddafi was being shielded by nomadic tribesmen in the desert near the Algerian border, while his followers fend off assaults on his hometown.

Intense sniper and artillery fire from pro-Gaddafi fighters has so far prevented National Transitional Council (NTC) forces from taking Sirte despite more than two weeks of fighting and two full-on assaults.

One of Gaddafi's last two bastions, it has withstood a siege, NTC tank and rocket fire as well as NATO air strikes, and the United Nations and international aid agencies are worried about conditions for civilians trapped inside.

More than a month since NTC fighters captured the capital Tripoli, Gaddafi remains defiantly on the run pledging to lead a campaign of armed resistance against the new leaders.

Gaddafi himself may be holed up near the western town of Ghadames, near the Algerian border, under the protection of Tuareg tribesmen, a senior NTC military official said.

"There has been a fight between Tuareg tribesmen who are loyal to Gaddafi and Arabs living there (in the south). We are negotiating. The Gaddafi search is taking a different course," Hisham Buhagiar told Reuters, without elaborating.

Many Tuaregs, nomads who roam the desert spanning the borders of Libya and its neighbors, have backed Gaddafi since he supported their rebellions against the governments of Mali and Niger in the 1970s and allowed them to settle in Libya.

Buhagiar said Gaddafi's most politically prominent son, Saif al-Islam, was in the other final loyalist holdout, Bani Walid, and that another son, Mutassem, was in Sirte.

STRUGGLE FOR SIRTE

Lack of coordination and division at the front-line have been hampering NTC attempts to capture Sirte and Bani Walid.

Fighting continued on separate eastern and western fronts in Sirte on Wednesday and commanders said they would try to join the two fronts together and take the city's airport.

"There is progress toward the coastal road and the airport.... The plan is for various brigades to invade from other directions," NTC fighter Amran al-Oweiwi said.

Street-fighting was under way at a roundabout 2 km (1.5 miles) east of the town center, where anti-Gaddafi fighters were pinned down for a third day by sniper and artillery fire.

As NATO planes circled overhead, NTC forces moved five tanks to the front but were immediately met with Grad rockets fired from inside the town, missing the tanks by only yards.

A Reuters crew at the scene saw several NTC fighters flee the front-line under heavy fire while others stood their ground.

"If I die, I'll die proud," one fighter shouted as he left a group of hiding comrades and ran back to the front.

"At the buildings! At the buildings!" an NTC commander ordered fighters manning the tanks, in an apparent attempt to target snipers, as thick black smoke rose over the town.

On the western front, fighters leapt into pick-up trucks mounted with machineguns and anti-aircraft guns and raced in the direction of the airport.

Medical workers said 15 fighters were killed in Sirte on Tuesday, the highest single-day death toll. Two more, including a senior NTC field commander, were killed on Wednesday. More than 100 fighters were wounded, many from sniper fire.

NTC fighters captured 60 African mercenaries in Sirte on Wednesday. They said most had come from Chad and Mali to fight with Gaddafi loyalists.

A commander leading the attack on Sirte said on Tuesday he was in talks with elders inside the city about a truce, but the head of an anti-Gaddafi unit on the east rejected negotiations.

In Tripoli, a senior NTC officer said his fighters, on entering Sirte two days ago, had found and seized a helicopter under camouflage that appeared to have been made ready for a swift departure. He told Reuters he suspected the helicopter was assigned for the use of a senior official of the ousted Gaddafi government, possibly one of Gaddafi's sons.

GADDAFI CLAN STILL VOCAL

As the fighting continues, humanitarian organizations are sounding the alarm about the possibility of civilian casualties in the town. Gaddafi's spokesman has said NATO air strikes and NTC shelling are killing civilians.

NATO and the NTC deny that. They say Gaddafi loyalists are using civilians inside Sirte as human shields and have kidnapped and executed those they believe to be NTC supporters.

"Our main worry is the people being displaced because of the fighting," said Jafar Vishtawi, a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), near Sirte.

Civilians fleeing the town have said there is no power, little water and that the local population is terrified.

Taking the last two Gaddafi strongholds and finding the toppled leader would bring the NTC closer to establishing their credibility as the country's new rulers.

A Syria-based television station that has been broadcasting audio speeches by Gaddafi, reported on Tuesday that Gaddafi had addressed his supporters and urged them to fight in a speech broadcast on a local radio station in Bani Walid. The report by Arrai television could not be independently verified.

In a separate development, NTC justice minister Mohammed al-Alagi said he was ready to work with Scottish authorities to probe the possible involvement of others in the Lockerbie bombing apart from the sole Libyan convicted for the attack.

His remark reversed a position he took only on Monday, when he said that as far as Libya was concerned the case of the bombing of the U.S.-bound airliner over the Scottish village of Lockerbie with the loss of 270 lives was closed.

Scottish prosecutors had asked Libya's NTC to give them access to papers or witnesses that could implicate more suspects in the attack, possibly including Gaddafi himself.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Increasingly visible, the number of gay Americans telling the U.S. census they're living with same-sex partners nearly doubled in the past decade to about 650,000, and more than 130,000 of them recorded themselves as husband or wife.

Census figures released Tuesday provide a rare snapshot of married and unmarried same-sex couples in the U.S. based on the government count conducted last year, when gay marriage was legal in five states and the District of Columbia. It comes at a time when public opposition to gay marriage is easing and advocacy groups are seeking a state-by-state push for broader legal rights.

Some 131,729 same-sex couples checked "husband" or "wife" boxes on their decennial census forms, the first time people could do so, after gay marriage became legal in Massachusetts starting in 2004.

That 2010 tally of married gay couples is higher than the actual number of legal marriages, civil unions and domestic partnerships in the U.S. Even after New York legalized gay marriage in June, a Census Bureau consultant, Gary Gates of UCLA, put the actual number of legally recognized gay partnerships at 100,000.

"There's no dispute the same-sex population increases from 2000 and 2010," said Martin O'Connell, chief of the fertility and family statistics branch at the Census Bureau. In cases of couples who reported they were living in a marriage relationship, "they basically responded that way because that is truly how they felt they were living."

The total of 646,464 gay couples in the U.S. was a downward revision of the Census Bureau's count of 901,997 released last month. The bureau said Tuesday it had to make the adjustment after determining that coding errors resulted in an exaggerated count for the initial number.

Still, researchers believe the new estimate could be as much as 15 percent lower than the actual number of gay couples in the U.S. because of social stigma, discrimination or other concerns about confidentiality. In a small number of cases, younger gay couples also may not have been counted in the census if they were "doubling up" in a home where neither was the head of household.

Based on revisions made to the 2000 census figure as well, the number of same-sex couples nationwide rose 80 percent from an adjusted 2000 figure of 358,390. Previously, the Census Bureau had reported there were 594,391 same-sex couples in the U.S. in 2000.

Nationwide, about 51 percent of the couples last year were female. Nearly one in five of the same-sex couples was raising children at home ? widely distributed among those who reported being in marriage relationships and those who were not.

Broken down by state, the highest share of households with reported same-sex couples ? both married and unmarried ? was in Washington, D.C., at nearly 2 percent. Washington was followed by Vermont, Massachusetts, California, Oregon, Delaware, New Mexico and Washington state. On the other end of the scale, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming had the smallest shares, each with less than one-third of 1 percent.

Gay rights groups say the latest census numbers are an important step in increasing visibility and helping to dispel notions that they live primarily in big cities on the two coasts. Still, because the census forms do not ask about sexual orientation, some activists have complained that single gays ? as opposed to those with live-in spouses and partners ? have no means of gaining collective representation through the census.

"Every step is a step forward in acknowledging that, yes, we do exist," said Lois Farnham, of Burlington, Vt., who recorded a civil union with Holly Puterbaugh the first day they were allowed in 2000 and then legally married her in 2009.

Farnham, 67, said she expected the census numbers would underestimate the number of people in such relationships, noting that many same-sex couples keep quiet about their married status. "They can't share that with a lot of people for family or job security reasons. It's still an issue and people are still being discriminated against," she said.

Puterbaugh, 65, said many couples live as if they're married without making it formal. "You have to remember that there are many straight couples who have chosen not to marry for whatever reason that may be," she said.

The new same-sex data also come as battlegrounds lie ahead over gay rights. Voters in North Carolina and Minnesota will be deciding next year on the fate of constitutional amendments banning gay marriage, while the Maryland Legislature is expected to consider a bill that would legalize it.

An August poll by The Associated Press and the National Constitutional Center found a narrow majority of Americans support legal recognition of same-sex marriage ? 53 percent to 44 percent opposed. That is largely unchanged from last year but a shift from 2009, when a slim majority opposed government recognition of gay marriage.

In 2000, citing the federal Defense of Marriage Act, the Bush administration directed the Census Bureau to re-code same-sex couples who identified themselves as married to be counted as unmarried partners. Pressed by gay-rights groups in 2009, the Obama administration reversed that policy, allowing the bureau to count same-sex couples as married.

Last week, the U.S. military passed a historic milestone with the repeal of its ban on gays serving openly.

Relieve Migraine Headaches Naturally ? Health & Fitness

There are numerous new migraine headache therapies available that may be each protected and effective. Pure treatments for migraine headaches are normally safer and cheaper than traditional ache medications. And in many situations they will relieve pain simply as well or even better than prescription or non-prescription drugs. The possibility of a destructive reaction to a safe and pure migraine headache treatment remains to be there, however it is less with most natural therapy methods than it is with pain-relieving medications.

Every particular person on the face of the earth is unique. Their physique chemistry is different than anybody else?s. One particular person might discover relief from their migraine complications with one type of remedy whereas someone else could strive that same remedy and find no aid at all. No two people will experience the same reaction from the identical treatment. But why is that?

Every physique is made up of a mixture of chemicals. Every particular person produces certain chemicals in their physique so that they may have the ability to perform at their best. Histamines will improve gastric secretion and dilate the capillaries. Insulin is secreted by the pancreas and helps regulate the blood sugar levels. Hormones are produced by the physique for a lot of different functions. Adrenaline (epinephrine) is produced in response to stress. Each physique is unique and produces different chemical compounds in differing amounts. When a person takes aspirin (a chemical) for his or her migraine complications it modifications the chemical make-up of that particular person?s body.

You have at all times heard that when two chemicals, in the identical amounts, at the same temperature, etc. are mixed together they?ll cause the same reaction. Which may be true, however when one chemical (reminiscent of aspirin) is taken by two separate people their reactions will never be exactly the same as a result of no two individuals have equivalent chemical compounds in their body. One person taking aspirin won?t have the identical reaction as someone else taking aspirin. And it is the identical with natural migraine headache treatments. Since no two people are equivalent no two individuals will reply precisely the identical to a treatment methodology for migraine headaches.

So simply because one migraine headache therapy does not work for one particular person does not mean it won?t work in your migraine headaches. There are numerous efficient alternatives to taking medicines in terms of relieving migraine headaches. You simply need to try one for your self to see if it is going to work for you.

One pure and widespread therapy method for migraine complications is chiropractic care, or chiropractic manipulations. Studies have proven that over 80% of headache patients discover some type of aid for their complications with chiropractic treatment. And chiropractic treatment has been shown to be extraordinarily safe. Spinal problems trigger headaches and when these spinal problems are treated by chiropractors a high proportion of their patients experience relieve from their pain.

Another natural approach to relieve migraine complications is biofeedback. It is a secure and doubtlessly efficient technique to remove pain. Biofeedback is not truly a treatment, but a training program designed to help an individual develop the ability to regulate their autonomic (involuntary) nervous system. Functions which might be normally automated in the physique, reminiscent of blood strain regulation or coronary heart rate may be controlled voluntarily. This technique makes it doable for a person to control their very own heart fee, blood pressure, skin temperature or rest of their muscles.

It?s no secret that stress causes muscle tension. And no person will deny that muscle pressure causes ache and headaches. And it is also a indisputable fact that by stress-free this muscle tension, especially within the neck and head, it?s attainable to relieve the migraine headaches or neck pain that is being brought on by the tension. With biofeedback the machinery is not always necessary. Once the biofeedback technique is realized there isn?t any longer any need for the equipment. The affected person with migraine headaches can now produce the specified impact at any time. A person that has been trained with biofeedback can control some of their bodily capabilities, such as muscle relaxation, which will help relieve their headache pain.

One other explanation for headaches may be the intake of an excessive amount of salt. Some folks simply can?t get sufficient of it. They pour it onto their food with reckless abandon. And an excessive amount of salt can and does cause headaches. What?s the resolution? Simply lessening the salt intake can typically forestall the complications from occurring.

Meals sensitivities have also been proven to cause migraine complications in some people. Meals comparable to cheese, alcohol, MSG (monosodium glutamate ? a meals additive), yeast, wheat, nuts, avocados, beans, bananas, oranges (and other citrus fruits), pork, vinegar (and pickled meals), dairy products, caffeine, chocolate, onions and others could cause migraines. Foods that cause migraine headaches are referred to as ?migraine triggers.? People who experience migraine headaches due to food allergies can reduce or get rid of their ache by eliminating the foods that trigger the headaches.

It sounds easy, nevertheless it takes a little detective work to determine which foods, if any, are inflicting the migraine headaches. So how are you going to determine which foods are the culprits? The logical method is to maintain a diary of what you eat and when. Get a small pocket book, with each page representing at some point, and make three columns on each of the pages. The primary column on the left facet of the page will comprise the hours in the day. The second column down the center of the page can be a list of the foods eaten that day. And the third column on the right aspect of the web page will list the symptoms (complications) that you just experience.

Here?s how the food diary works: when you had an orange, cereal and milk for breakfast at eight AM you?ll write ?orange, cereal, milk? within the middle (food) column on to the precise of 8 AM within the left (time) column. Make a note of the whole lot that you simply eat on this checklist and at what time you ate them.

Subsequent, whenever you experience a migraine headache write ?migraine headache? or ?headache? in the fitting (symptoms) column that corresponds with the time (within the left column) your headache began. Different methods are taking a heat tub or shower, lying down and relaxing in a quiet darkish room, having someone therapeutic massage your neck and head (temporal area) muscle mass to assist relieve your pressure and muscle spasms or putting one thing cold (ice) on the again of the neck (on the base of the cranium). When using ice it shouldn?t be placed instantly on the skin. Some wet paper towels that have had the water wrung out of them needs to be placed between the ice and the skin. Common train may, over time, cut back tension.

Toshiba outs 'new' Canvio 3.0 portable HDDs, extends USB 3.0 to its Basics range

Monday morning is hardly the time for philosophical questions, but here's one anyway: should manufacturers refresh product lines if they're not adding anything new? Toshiba's Canvio 3.0 external HDDs announced today have pretty much identical specs to the Canvio 3.0 Plus drives already available on Amazon: capacities from 500GB to 1TB, prices from $90 to $140 and the inclusion some cloud backup software worth around $40. The pocket-sized drives come in a range of colors and it's hypothetically possible that they'll look better than their predecessors, but we can't be sure until we get product photos instead of the plain render you see on the right. Meanwhile, things get relatively more interesting when we come to the Canvio Basics range, which make a few sacrifices to come in $10 cheaper and which at least now come with USB 3.0. Enough with the nihilism already.

Why Affordable Web Hosting Is Important For Your Online Business ...

Basically, a web hosting service provides users with an opportunity to publish their website on the World Wide Web. A web hosting company, offers its clients space on its web server and will often also provide internet connectivity via a data center.

If you have ever tried to find out more about web hosting, you will know how complicated it can be. Numerous companies claim to offer the best deal and, moreover, there are various types of web hosting available. For example, your ISP (Internet Service Provider) probably offers a web hosting service, which may be free, but will typically provide fewer services and is funded by advertisements.

Furthermore, there are shared services, virtual dedicated service (otherwise known as virtual private server) and reseller hosting to name just a few of the services on offer.

Often, when searching for the best web host, users will take into account cost. However, customers should consider more than just the price of the hosting. In other words, it is advisable to consider what you are getting for your money, rather than simply worrying about how much you are spending.

While free services may appear to be an attractive prospect, it is wise to consider the disk space and bandwidth that will be offered by these companies. If you plan to create a small site that will attract a handful of visitors, then a free service could provide you with ample space, speed and features. However, if you are considering an ambitious project, or a company website, then it is wise to explore your options further.

Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to finding affordable web hosting, because every individual?s needs will differ. Therefore, the only way to ensure that you discover the best web host for you or your business is to thoroughly investigate the offers available. In addition, bear in mind, the competition to host your website is rife, so there are many bargains to be had. Please visit http://hostgatorcouponcode.org to know more about discounted hosting.

HostGator is an amazing web host that I would recommend. With unlimited bandwidth, unlimited drive space and hosting for unlimited websites, their features are hard to beat. With the use of Hostgator coupons, it will make hosting even cheaper, with your first month only costing a penny. Visit the site for the latest Hostgator coupon code for more hosting rebates.

Resentment poison your relationship marriage

Find your self holding a grudge, not letting go wrong, always mindful of your spouse for things that happened in the past, the guilt of a spouse for everything that is wrong with your marriage? All these symptoms of an accumulation of resentment in the marriage. The resentment grows when your spouse has done something you feel anger and pain. Keep these feelings, rather than dealing with what caused the anger and pain, is a recipe for resentment. AfterResentment towards your spouse is one of the surest ways to poison and destroy the marriage.

Causes bitterness and resentment will you soon be full of negative thoughts on the spouse. Negative thoughts threaten not only your marriage but do hurt. A quote that I often hear is "Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for someone to die." The poison of resentment affects every aspect of your life. How do you stay on longer and longerResentment is always bitter. In addition, the resentments that lead to feelings of depression.

The reality is that what was done is done is, you can not change what has already happened. Many people try to convince themselves that they always remember and cling to the past makes things different. The only difference is, it is your attitude, it's getting worse.

The only person who has control over you there. Note, you may not know thatControl of thoughts and actions of the spouse, but you can control your thoughts and actions. Even in the best marriages, things happen that cause or the other spouse must be bad. The difference between a healthy marriage and a marriage is unhealthy to let go, the hurt and move on or resentful, and clung to the evil.

Abraham Lincoln once said: "People are so happy or unhappy as they make their thoughts." You can choose to keepall evil, and constantly feel the pain or you can choose to forgive and let the hurt. In other words, hurt feelings will pass, is the negative thoughts and resentments, because these feelings entirely your choice.

It is the resentment of a silent partner in your marriage? If so, I can promise you that you slowly but surely destroying the relationship. A collection of resentment eventually leads to feelings of hatred, and it is not possible for someone to love and hatesimultaneously.

Netflix Inks Streaming Deal with DreamWorks Animation

SAN FRANCISCO ? After a deluge of disillusioning news, Netflix unveiled a coming attraction that its subscribers might like: the Internet video rights to films and television specials from DreamWorks Animation.

The multiyear deal announced Monday will give Netflix's streaming service the exclusive rights to show the latest content from DreamWorks, the studio behind a list of popular franchises that includes Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar. But the rights don't kick in until 2013. So, the DreamWorks material won't immediately placate Netflix customers who are clamoring for Netflix's streaming library to widen its selection of box office hits.

The complaints could escalate early next year when Netflix loses the streaming rights to Walt Disney movies and other films that it got through a licensing deal it had with Starz Entertainment.

Still, the DreamWorks deal represents a badly needed coup for Netflix, which has been reeling from a customer backlash triggered by sharp price increases and an upcoming spin-off of its DVD-by-mail service into a website called "Qwikster."

Netflix snatched the DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. rights from pay-TV rival HBO, providing the latest sign that Internet video has emerged as a compelling ? and lucrative ? alternative for Hollywood movie and TV studios.

Although the financial terms weren't spelled out, DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg left no doubt that Netflix is paying his studio more than Time Warner's HBO currently is. "This arrangement allows us to get more value for our content while giving us a greater degree of flexibility in how we distribute it across multiple platforms in today's evolving digital world," Katzenberg said.

The rising cost for streaming rights is the main reason that Netflix recently increased its prices by as much as 60% for U.S. customers who want both DVDs and Internet video.

Netflix, which is based in Los Gatos, Calif., is counting on the higher prices, which kicked in earlier this month, to bring in the additional revenue it needs to keep adding more titles to its streaming library. The strategy could backfire if too many subscribers upset by the higher prices cancel their service; Netflix already has said it expects to end this month with 600,000 fewer U.S. subscribers than it had in June when the total stood at 24.6 million.

Locking in DreamWorks as an exclusive deal also was important to Netflix, too, because it's facing tougher competition in Internet streaming.

Amazon, one of Netflix's most formidable rivals, expanded its streaming service Monday with the addition of TV shows and movies from News Corp.'s 20th Century Fox studio. Most of the TV shows that Amazon is picking up from Fox already are can be streamed through Netflix. In a notable exception, Amazon will have "The Wonder Years," a coming-of-age TV series from the 1980s and 1990s that is only available on DVD through Netflix.

Amazon says its streaming service now has more than 11,000 titles, doubling the total it had when it started seven months ago. Netflix's hasn't specified how many titles are in its streaming library, but an analysis done last month by another rival, Dish Network, found nearly 32,000 selections.

Amazon includes unlimited video streaming as part of another service, called "Prime," that provides free and discounted shipping to the Internet merchant's customers. Prime costs $79 per year, slightly below the $96 annual subscription for Netflix streaming.

The next logical step for Amazon would be to buy Netflix's streaming service, according to Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter. He thinks Netflix is spinning off its DVD-by-mail service primarily to make its streaming service more attractive to Amazon. Netflix's plummeting stock price has made a takeover bid more affordable too. Since the company announced its higher prices in mid-July, Netflix's stock price has lost more than half its value.

In a Sept. 22 research note, Pachter predicted Amazon would pay up to $7.2 billion for Netflix's streaming business. That would translate into about $130 per share.

Both Netflix and Amazon declined to comment on the speculation.

(AP) ? Jay-Z rapped about his beef with corporate radio in the monster jam "99 Problems," noting that stations won't play his hits if he doesn't do their shows. But on Friday, he played savior to radio station giant Clear Channel, headlining a two-night concert billed as the largest in radio history and a major step toward keeping the industry alive in the dot-com era.

The rapper bounced across a stage outfitted with two drum sets and two guitarists as he spit out his biggest hits and swung the two oversized gold chains hanging from his neck. It was the final performance of a night that saw confetti bombs dust the shoulders of pop sensations Kelly Clarkson, the Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars and Carrie Underwood. The spectacle was scheduled to continue Saturday night, with headliners Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Sting and Steven Tyler.

The star-studded lineup usually reserved for charity concerts was a marketing blitz that drew thousands to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and was broadcast to more than 10 million radio listeners across the country. Its intended beneficiary was iHeartRadio, Clear Channel's revamped free personalized music website that allows users to create custom radio stations and is meant to compete with the web's most popular online music services, especially Pandora.

"This is our coming out party," said Bob Pittman, chairman of media and entertainment platforms for Clear Channel Communications Inc. "What makes the festival so unusual is every act is a headliner."

The concert hosted by Ryan Seacrest began with the Black Eyed Peas taking the stage in a fit of confetti and pyrotechnics. Fergie, the pop group's only female member, snaked across the stage in black shorts that revealed her butt cheeks.

Concertgoers also waved their glowing cellphones in the air for Alicia Keys, Coldplay and rock band Jane's Addiction during the nearly five-hour concert. In a nod to Las Vegas' showgirl tradition, two feather-frocked, barely clad dancers frolicked across the stage as Jane's Addiction performed.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Mars each paid tribute to late British soul diva Amy Winehouse, with Mars performing Winehouse's "Valerie" as a brass quartet waved their horns in unison, and Martin urging the packed arena to join him in a mournful chorus of her prophetic hit "Rehab."

Fireworks later dusted the stage as Martin twirled his arms, curved his hips and then rolled over backward in a flurry of dance. A psychedelic piano joined him on stage.

Keys and Jay-Z performed the only duet of the night, a sequin-drenched performance of their hit "Empire State of Mind." Jay-Z thanked the crowd for singing along.

"I know I am on the West Coast," he said.

The mix of country, rock, rap, pop and R&B was a deliberate nod to the broad array of music available on iHeartRadio, Pittman said. The revamped website allows listeners to hear the feeds of more than 800 stations or create individualized channels that stream music along specific genres. Listeners can access 400,000 artists and 11 million tracks, millions more than Pandora.

Pandora launched in 2005, offering revolutionary computer formulas that create personalized song lists based on each users' tastes. It has grown to more than 30 million listeners each month.

Clear Channel is not about to cede its web listeners to another company. When it announced the iHeartRadio revamp, it had about 27 million listeners per month, just short of Pandora's reach. This month, iHeartRadio climbed to 30 million listeners each month, Pittman said. In all, Clear Channel reaches 237 million monthly listeners over traditional radio airwaves, ensuring that the company will be able to promote the site to millions of potential consumers.

Clear Channel will also turn to the music site to identify emerging artists ready for traditional radio and get user feedback.

"It's a way for us to discover more artists," Pittman said.

The beta site launched Sept. 8. This weekend's two-day festival marks the site's grand opening.

It's unclear whether the multi-day concert will drive listeners to iHeartRadio. Tickets sold out in 10 minutes.

Livio Lippetti, of Huntington Beach, Calif., traveled to Las Vegas to see Bruno Mars and the other headliners Friday. He said he had never heard of the website, despite advertisements promoting the site flashing over the stage after each act. He said he prefers Sirius XM Radio Inc.'s satellite service to web stations.

"I'm all about XM," he said.
